March 25, 2021– “It is around this time in the long period of winter that I begin to feel pain for spring. In March, I tend to dull myself a little before the beauty of winter. Although my prayer and meditation keep my heart open to see the passage of time and seasons with grateful eyes, mostly I just want the cold days to end. As the earth begins to thaw, we often want the process to speed up. I long for the bright flowers blowing in the spring breeze and warm summer nights on the porch. While impatience with winter is only human, I pause and remember the need to move slowly at this time of year. ” What follows is a beautiful meditation on waiting for the thaw, followed by three classic poems that capture aspects of this time of transition. “DailyGood writer Virginia May Drotar shares more in this beautiful piece.7701 reads)
