Meet the Finnish origami artist who turns brilliant ideas into reality, simply by folding paper.
Juho Könkkölä, 23, started folding origami models when he was just eight years old. Over a decade of practice has made you an expert in your chosen task.
By creating paper characters inspired by history, folk tales, books, movies, mythologies and more, each piece of art that Könkkölä makes is folded from a single square sheet of paper, and never has to be cut.
Origami is not always an easy pursuit for this Lapland University art graduate, as creating a single character often requires many months of work and sometimes thousands of folds. Fortunately, Könkkölä finds the creative process therapeutic.
