In theaters this fall, this film (pictured) follows teenage Rocks, who fears that she and her little brother Emmanuel will be forced to separate if someone finds out they live alone. Aided by her friends, she evades the authorities, in a story centered on joy, endurance and the spirit of childhood. The film is causing a sensation with its true cast (the stars are Bukky Bakray, whose mother is from Nigeria, and Somali-British actor Kosar Ali were cast by filmmakers who visited his school); a positive representation of Muslim culture; and a realistic and heartwarming portrayal of the young British woman, Snapchat jokes and all.
