A company that sends flowers, cards, fresh-baked cookies, and fine chocolates to end-of-life patients runs a contest to design the perfect flower arrangement.
The competition is a fundraiser for the Dream Foundation’s “Flower Empower” program, which delivered an unprecedented 25,000 bouquets and orchids to frontline patients and workers in 2020 alone.
The art of flower arranging, though often limited to trade magazines or Zen koans, is on full display at “Bloom the power of flowers, ”The show’s first floral arts competition, in which contestants will compete by popular vote for seven categories: table space, headdress, hand-tied bouquet, orchid display, contemporary, garden photography, and still life master painting of garden.
Including categories for youth, amateur and professional performances, no one is excluded from submitting their entries online until May 3. From the 4th to the 8th, any contestant or member of Flower Empower can cast their vote.
The contest “is an opportunity to present the seemingly simple yet profound work of Flower Empower to the entire nation,” says Kisa Heyer, CEO of the Dream Foundation. “Anyone can submit floral art and with that submission, know that they are having an impact on someone’s life.”
The Dream Foundation is inviting all contestants to submit a donation along with their entry, as they are a fully voluntary organization, as well as the only dream-granting non-profit that offers services for terminally ill adults.

The contest will be judged by niche legends in floral arrangements from various publications and businesses, and the grand prize winner will receive an all-expenses-paid vacation at the iconic 5-star El Encanto hotel in California, including some lush spa treatments. So, what are you waiting for?
