Far from the disaster that was ‘Boaty McBoatFace’, Scotland has run a public campaign to name the fleet of 50 salt and plow trucks responsible for keeping roads safe for motorists, and the results have been simply too amusing.

The contest was organized by Amey, a road infrastructure company responsible for maintaining public roads and bridges, conducting inspections, and keeping roads clear of debris and snow.
From December 23 to January 23, online submissions attracted a record number of participants, many of which were inspired by the James Bond films in an obscure tribute to the late Sean Connery.
Presentations are puns at their finest, containing every possible winter pun imaginable.

A simple The GPS application allows you to get around the country and see each truck doing its job, marked with its own unique name.

Hopefully by next winter, Amey will have painted stylized pictures on the doors of each truck to reflect their names, the way WWII warplanes were decorated with comic book paintings in the 1940s.

But without further ado, here are our top ten names in no particular order:
- You’re a Harry from Blizzard
- William Wall-Ice
- Plowboy Brinestone
- Sweet pickle boy
- Complete O’Salter
- Lord Coldemort
- Carrie Bradthaw
- Spreddie van halen
- Willie the Ice Sweeper
- Sleetwood Mac

And here are the five fun Bond-themed trucks.
- On His Majesty’s slippery surface
- Coldfinger
- Dr snow
- You only grind ice
- License to cool
You’re welcome.
SHARE the fun at a snowy distance with friends on social media …
