Two special friends in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area have created a happier Christmas for the children and families affected during the pandemic, and were inspired by the experience of gratitude they both felt growing up.
Jordynn Jenkins and her best friend Skylar Beavers started ‘Make a child happy, ‘an organization that offers Christmas gifts to children, the same support their own moms received years ago.
Growing up, both Jordynn and Skylar were raised by single mothers and this fueled their passion this year to make sure they “pay” to offer support to other children from single-parent homes during the holidays.

COVID-19 has impacted numerous families, so the dynamic duo decided to set a goal to provide gifts for 50 children. College students asked for donations from the community and recruited friends as elves to beautifully wrap and deliver gifts.
“We both come from single mother homes, so we both had to be sponsored for Christmas earlier,” Jenkins told WCPO news. “We just wanted to be able to create a way to give back to our community.”
